Christa Sumwalt helps people charged with felony and misdemeanor crimes – everything from property crimes to under-age drinking offenses. She handles traffic tickets and driving offenses to lessen, as much as possible, any negative impact on her clients’ driving records.
Criminal law is her passion. She started as a prosecutor at the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s office for ten years. She now helps those charged with criminal and traffic offenses. Being charged or ticketed can have significant consequences, and folks need an experienced advocate to help them through the criminal justice system. She has a small, selective practice. This gives her clients more direct access to her as their attorney, instead of her staff, from the first talk until the conclusion of their cases. She has worked in Mecklenburg County for over 15 years and is very familiar with the local court system to move things through as quickly and efficiently as possible.
If you can think of your favorite teacher, Christa is this way when she explains the law to her clients. She takes complex ideas and makes them simple for you, and she does so in an engaging, competent, and friendly way.
